Mercury is the most beautiful element in the periodic table. And the most reviled. UCL chemist and broadcaster, Professor Andrea Sella, explores the mysterious world of mercury and explains why in his opinion we should feel a little sad as this most poisonous of elements becomes the first to face a worldwide ban.
Plus enjoy late night opening of Periodic Tales: The Art of the Elements, a new exhibition that explores how artists are inspired by the chemical elements and investigates the links between art and science. With a party atmosphere and featuring a periodic table themed DJ set join us for an evening of events and activities which will give you fascinating insights into the exhibition in explosive and unexpected ways.
